About the diagram
The image is composed of three vertical bands of magenta and blue. These appear identical to one another to all observers with full-colour vision.
Two vertical bands are placed between them:
- The band on the left-hand side has cyan and blue stripes.
- The band on the right-hand side has light green and red stripes.
The description above is incorrect and most observers will share this visual illusion. The cyan and light green stripes are in fact the same colour.
